Scott has such a gift for capturing incredible details on insects. Another stunning image! It's been pointed out to me a couple different times that it's definitely obvious I have an infatuation with insects. lol :) It does seem to be a trend with my favorite pics. I just know how hard they are to capture so I am so impressed with those who have a gift for it like Scott.
Congratulations, Scott on being this week's Favorite Photo of the Week. Your photo will be featured on my side panel the entire week linking people to your blog and you will be in the running for a month long advertisement spot on my blog. Feel free to grab your button below.
It's time for Week 19 of the Favorite Photo of the Week Contest. Link up below but first make sure you read the rules.
EVERYONE PLEASE READ
There are some photos submitted that I would love to choose as winners. Unfortunately because they are protected I am not able to select them, so in the future when you submit a photo to the challenge, please allow me access to at least that one photo so you will have a chance of winning. Also, I notice some people are still using my old contest button. If you would be so kind as to replace it with the new one, I would really appreciate it. Thanks so much for everyone's participation! This is the biggest turnout to date. You all are awesome!
Here is my own personal favorite photo of the week:
I pulled over to the side of the road to get a shot of the Mexican Sage bushes and was delighted to find about 5 hummingbirds flying around. I was so wishing I had my 70-200mm lens since they are very skiddish and don't let you get close at all. Thankfully I was able to hide behind the bush and capture this guy with my 18-135mm. With a little cropping I am quite pleased with the results!
Time to vote for your Favorite Photo of the Month. These listed below were chosen as the #1 Favorite Photo of the Week the last 4 weeks and now it is time to choose a winner. The winner's photo will get a free month long feature on the right side bar of my blog which gives them more exposure thus driving more traffic to their blog. We all love lots of traffic, right? Well, blog traffic that is. :) If you are in the running to win then be sure to let your friends and followers know to come vote for you! Voting closes at midnight on Friday.
If I would have known how easy it was to add textures I would have done this ages ago! Now I can legitimately participate in The Daily Wyatt's Texture Thursday. I found this helpful video tutorial and now I'm a texture adding genius! Well, not really, but hey, this was fun. I downloaded a bunch of free textures from The Coffee Shop Blog and can't wait to start using them. Does anyone else have a special folder with awesome tutorials bookmarked. I go to that folder for all the time and am constantly adding new ones. It's amazing all the free tutorials there are out there.
As my daughter and I were leaving the library today, I saw this leaf on the ground. I didn't have my camera with me, so I brought it home and put it on the patio. Hey, sometimes you have to improvise, right. I didn't want to miss out on capturing a fall leaf, so I just grabbed one so I would have it when I had access to my camera. :)
Ana over at Wonderland hosts the weekly linkup called 'Earth Wonders' on her blog. She has included the details of her linkup below:
I've a little challenge over my 'wonderland' called 'Earth Wonders'. Each Wednesday I publish a post with a little inlinkz gadget, so everyone can link to their photo. The post will go up in the early hours of Wednesday morning, and will close the following Tuesday at 23:59pm GMT London Time. Each week there is a theme, but everyone is free to choose the subject as long as it fits their 'wonders' list. Simple and fun :)
'Earth Wonders' will now be included on my list of linkups under the tab 'Other Linkups' found at the top of my page. Ana, please be sure to include my button below on your blog so others can find their way to this helpful list of linkups.
If you would like your linkup featured on my blog, please click on the tab at the top of the page entitled 'Get Your Link Up Featured' for details. The next linkup will be featured next Monday.
